Rainy Days In Porto

I love rainy days. I love everything about them: the smell, the sound (I sleep to rain sounds playing on my Alexa), how it feels on my skin … you get it, I love the rain. Only thing is – I don’t love the rain when I’m on vacation! Y’all it rained the ENTIRE day when we were in Porto. This was probably my favorite city on this trip (see my trip to Spain here, here, here, here, here, here or my trip to Paris here and here). Bae – wherever you are, we are heading to Porto for our baecation! Y’all I loved Porto so much. The architecture, the views, the food and if I drank (the wine) … Lord Porto had it all. History was coming alive as we walked the streets in Porto. From the stories of its history as a trading port, to the royals and their love triangles, to the reason behind why houses are decorated with tile to the bridges … ahhh the bridges (you should definitely take the tour) Porto had it all. I’m no history buff but I’m a sucker for great architecture and a good love story.

Porto is the kind of city you go to fall in love. Are you googling the place yet? The one thing that I wasn’t ready for was the walking. My friend Rachel had visited Porto in January and she said – forget your pretty shoes, get some Nike’s and walk! She was right – I was trying to be cute *insert shrugging emoji*.  Go to Porto. Why? Because Porto is where you go to stop time and escape for a little while.
