Day 4
I work in consulting where I attend multiple client meetings in a week. When I first started working as a consultant, dressing up for these was a challenge. I usually like to add a pop of color to my looks and depending on the client, this may or may not be appropriate, which makes dressing up for client meetings a tad tricky. So how do I maintain my sense of style and represent my firm in a professional manner?
I use the KISS principle: Keep It Simple Stupid! I pair a skirt with a blouse or knit along with a jacket or coat and some fashionable heels. That’s it. No bells and whistles when attending client meetings. I choose one item that will have the pop of color and the rest will have neutral colors (black or grey). For this look, I picked grey as the base color and orange as the pop of color. Orange to me is a color that transitions well from summer to fall. I definitely wear orange from April to November.
This look exudes both confidence and professionalism. It also transitions well from work to social gathering in the event you have a client lunch to attend as well.
