If you’re anything like me, you’re probably at a time in your life when all your friends are having babies. And if you are like me … you’re the single friend bringing fabulous pricey baby gifts vying for the rich aunty spot! This means that there are tons of baby showers to attend but what does one wear to these?

My go-to are skirts. Nothing like a feminine, printed skirt to wear to a shower. I love A-line skirts like the one I styled below because they cinch at the waist making your waist look smaller and they flare away from the hips and them thick things (a baby shower isn’t where we want to flaunt our curves … just sayin). I’ve heard it said that short girls shouldn’t wear A-line skirts as it makes us look shorter. The perfect solution to this is throwing on a pair of heels and voilà – your legs are lengthened! For this look, I paired one of my favorite Chicwish skirts with a turtleneck and bright colored pumps. The color scheme is perfect for a fall/winter baby shower – yes folks, I stay in season even with baby shower fashion!

To complete this look I added my Zara bag (where the gift will go — as well as my backup flats or converses). I accessorized with tea drop diamond earrings, oversize sunglasses and some gloves. I didn’t have too many accessories as part of this look as baby showers usually mean lots of kids will be around and kids love pulling at jewelry – so I don’t wear a ton.
