Baptism

Day 8

I wanted to find an occasion that I thought would be a style challenge and I stumbled upon baptisms. How does one style a look for such an occasion all the while remaining fashionable?

I started off with the color palette and chose neutrals. Neutrals should always be a go-to especially when attending such reverential events. These colors evoke modesty, which is what  we are going for – especially at a baptism. I then selected the pieces: a skirt, sweater, heels and a corset belt.

The length and color of the midi length of the skirt are a nod to the modesty theme of the look. A skirt that hits just below the knee is perfect for such occasions. The grey sweater is perfect for a fall baptism as it allows you to still be warm despite the chilly winds. A girl always needs a solid pair of heels and these babies are the perfect nude for this look! And to cinch the look – all puns intended – the corset belt (another Primark win) does the trick. It’s the perfect blush pink color and adds a pop to an otherwise basic look.
