Favorite App In March: Pillow

I’m naturally a night owl and getting to sleep has always been one of the most challenging things for me to do. It’s partly why I turned to meditation as part of my night time routine (see here). I understand the benefits of sleep – better recall, boosted immunity, hormonal balance … the list goes on! I get it – I need to sleep. The older I got the more I realized that it’s not just sleeping, its the quality of sleep that you get that ensures that you are getting the benefits of a good night’s rest! 

The Pillow AUTOMATIC SLEEP TRACKER

The Pillow App is the tool that you need when looking to track and evaluate the quality of your sleep. This app is one I’ve used for over a year! The app tracks how long I sleep using my Apple Watch. Additionally, I get details into the quality of sleep: how long was I in REM for? How long was I in a wakeful state? All key components to better understanding your sleep health.

Why I Love This App

I love this app because not only do you have a very straightforward UI, but also the presentation and interpretation of the analysis is made in a very user friendly manner. So over time you can see whether you are hitting your sleep goals and the quality of sleep you are getting.

In a recent software update the app included more guided meditation and sleep sound options which add so much more value and usefulness to the app! I purchased the premium version and have never regretted it as I have been able to sleep more and anticipate where I will have sleep debt (like when I travel) to fully understand what gets me optional REM time.
