Day 18
Today I bring you first date done two ways.

A first date is usually unique to the couple. Some folks prefer a casual first date; where others prefer a more traditional dinner date experience. Regardless of choice, first dates are surrounded by tons of pressure to impress and be liked. And in all honesty, a large part of this anxiety is dictated by how you present yourself. The saying goes – you only get one chance at a first impression – and a first date is certainly one of those occasions where first impressions do count!
So I want to make sure that you have options when heading out on this first date. What you wear can either boost your confidence or bring out your anxieties and I want to set you up for success so here we go!
I paired this African print skirt with a simple white printed tee and some heels. I added a white duster, some fun accessories and one of my favorite hot pink purses. This look is more for a more sit down date – a lunch date for instance.

For my second option, I paired the skirt with a mustard sweater and some converses. This would be a casual date look – a more interactive date like at a game or park. This look is still very feminine but has a more laid back feel.

As you pick which look to replicate, think about the following: comfort, the message you are trying to communicate about yourself and letting loose to get to know another person (a date should be fun after all). As a rule of thumb, I never wear elaborate outfits on a first date. You know, stuff that has twenty ties or is super expensive or something too short that I will have to continually pull down. If I have to worry about an outfit’s fit, it doesn’t make the cut for a first date look. Period.
