I travel frequently and I usually share my packing tops on my Instagram stories @Africancocktail where many of you ask for links to my travel must haves! So, I figured that I would share my 10 must have travel products with you all in today’s post. I shared what I pack in my carryon (here) over a year ago! I will share an updated post soon but for now, these are the products that are always with me either in my carryon or in my checked luggage.
1. Hydracy Water Bottle
I always travel with a water bottle. I usually pack it in my carryon empty and once I’m past TSA, I fill it with water. It’s important to stay hydrated when in flight. Additionally the cups they have on the plan are sooo tiny! It’s easier to fill up a water bottle and bring it along on a flight.
My lips are probably the first to get dry when I’m in-flight and this Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm is one of my carryon must haves! It’s so moisturizing and nutrient rich that I never leave home without it! Additionally, its compact size ensures that you can bring it along as a carryon item! I love this lip balm so much y’all!
Yes, ladies and gentlemen – booty wipes. Have y’all ever been on an international flight and tried to use the bathroom? Whew Chile … let’s just say I bring my own booty wipes so that I don’t have to worry about my hygiene while in-flight. I have even started packing these with me on a daily basis … my booty stays fresh y’all!
This facial spray is a must have when on flights. Skin dries out when in-flight and a good facial spray will keep your face moisturized. I personally no longer fly without these babies. The size of the spray bottles are TSA approved making these carryon worthy! Say goodbye to dry skin yall …
These are my latest finds y’all! These refillable lotion bottles carry up to four liquids in one canister. I usually pack cleanser, toner, moisturizer and serum in one canister. I love the utility that these canisters provide and well, they make my list every time!
Ah yes, the good ol’ electronic organizer from Bagsmart! There’s nothing worse than tangled cords. I hate having to detangle cords mid-flight: there’s no room to pull out the chords, there’s no room to detangle the chords without bumping the person next to you and honestly I hate a messy purse. So, yes folks, this electronic organizer has been a lifesaver and a must have!
Do y’all know how gross airplane tray tables and seat handles can be? I shudder just thinking about it! To that end, I always pack some lysol wipes to disinfect any surface that I touch when in-flight. Call me a germaphobe but I am not getting sick while in-flight!
I have to drink some Emergen-c before I take flight. Flights are prime areas where viral and bacterial infections are caught, which usually means that we need to boost our immune system before, during and after the flight. So drink up y’all!
A must have when traveling is an external hard drive. I love taking loads of photographs and videos and it’s important to always have a back up – especially of my edited images. So I got this 2TB hard drive, which I always bring with me when I travel!
Y’all, this product has been m favorite electronic purchase over the last couple of years. I have been able to slowly replace my laptop by packing the iPad Pro and keyboard. Having this tool has allowed me to work when in-flight as well as to stay entertained when I didn’t have any looming deadlines!
I’m Binja, an African based healthcare IT consultant by day and an #Africancocktail at all times! Who is an #Africancocktail? Allow me to explain: I’m half Congolese (DRC) and half Kenyan (hella African) – that along with the fact that I’ve grown up in five countries on three continents has contributed to my being an amalgamation of cultures (or in my case a cocktail). Yes, I’m one of those ‘third culture kids’ who sounds British but speaks Swahili and French with an American accent. So yes folks – I’m an #Africancocktail!
