My Favourite African Apple Music Playlists

I’m a huge audiophile. I have playlist for pretty much every mood I find myself in. I love a good playlist! Music can shift the atmosphere in a room instantly. A DJ with an incredible playlist can keep you on the dance floor grooving without you even feeling the pinch of those cute heels!

I shared my spring workout playlist last year here and I have since updated my Africancocktail Apple Music playlist here. Today, I want to share my current fave Apple Music playlists for 2021. Y’all these are all I’m vibing to as I get my year started.

Africa Now – this playlist has the most current African music on repeat! It has everything from Afrobeats to Afro jazz to Afro house. So many of your faves are in this one: Davido, Wizzy baby, Sauti Sol, Nasty C, Casper Nyovest … you get the picture – its lit!

Afro House Nation – speaking of Afro House, if you want to get that Cape Town or Durban club vibe, this is the playlist for you! This playlist features artists like Sun-El Musician, Vidasoul, Darque, Citizen Deep – you gon be movin son!

Afrobeats Workout – lemme tell you how I spend many a morning working out to this playlist! It has some of my fave artists on here and working out to a beat will change how you workout! This playlist features Fireboy, Tekno, Joeboy, Omah Lay – you will sweat – Issa promise.

Dja La Foule – where are my French lovers at? This playlist is for you! Some of my fave Pop, Hip Hop artists like Damso, Tayc and Dadju are featured! When I want to hear I love you in a whole other language or simply hear my fave brothers (Dadju and Maite Gims) take me back to Congo, this is the playlist!

Mzanzi Jazz Essentials – this is my most recent and favourite playlist (outside of my own!). It’s rich with some of Hugh Masekela’s or Jimmy Dludlu’s work and if you love playing jazz recreationally or when studying this is the playlist for you!
