My Afrobeats Spring Workout Playlist

I legit only listen to Afrobeats when working out (see my fitness posts herehere & here). Unless I’m in a Zumba class or following along a YouTube workout video, I’m only playing music from African artists. Every time I post a story on my Instagram @Africancocktail, I usually feature an African artist and there’s always someone asking who the artist is. So I went ahead and added my entire Afrobeats playlist on my site here for y’all to enjoy! So, what will I be listening to when working out this spring?

The Warm Up

These are the songs that I listen to when I’m activating my muscles (stretching and increasing my heart rate) pre-workout.

  1. Broken Heart by Sarkodie ft Sista Afia
  2. Mwasi ya Congo by Dadju ft Gas Mawete
  3. Poko by Kizz Daniel
  4. La Même by Maître Gims ft. Vianney
  5.  Hammer by Bisa Kdei
  6.  Marry You by Diamond Platnumz ft Ne-Yo

Go Time!

This is the music that I play when I’m ready to really get my heart rate going. The tempo goes up and a lot of the times these are some of my favorite songs. So, it’s so much fun to play these songs and work out as well – they are legit my motivation to keep pushing harder and harder.

  1. Geng by Mayorkun
  2. Available by Patoranking
  3. Pass the Agbara by Skuki
  4.  Bolanle by IVD & Zlatan
  5.  Ntoloni by Anatii
  6. Inde by Heavy-K ft. Bucie & Nokwazi
  7. Forever by Sithelo ft. Skyewanda
  8. Easy Jeje by Reekado Banks
  9. 5 Fingers by Kwame ft. Sho Madjozi
  10. The Matter by Maleek Berry ft. Wizkid

The Cool Down

This is my favorite part of the workout! Yes, I know many people love the actual workout but I’m glad when it’s over – and my playlist reflects that lol! It’s a mix of slower paced music, which allows my heart rate to slow down post workout.

  1. Katchua by Ya Levis
  2.  Before You Wake Up by Adekunle Gold
  3. Ada by DJ Ecool by
  4. Girl Next Door by Sauti Sol ft. Tiwa Savage
  5. Olufunmi by Styl-Plus
  6. Oh Yeah by King Promise

Did I call out any songs that are on your workout playlists? Lemme know which ones in the comments section below!
