Picture a rainy day, soaked pants and humidity at its peak – these were the conditions when my friends and I made our way to Park Güell in Barcelona. We could have abandoned the trip and opted for another day but we persisted, determined to seize the day despite the weather.
And so we began our walk in the park. Gaudí if you don’t know is one of the greats. His architectural designs and creations are in full display throughout Spain. Barcelona in particular has La Sagrada Familia, which if you’ve never visited is just a wonder to see and walkthrough. Gaudí also designed Park Güell – probably the most artistic park that I have ever been to. The park is located on a hill with a mix of interesting architectural buildings and tendered garden areas.
The shapes, the use of tiles, the pillars, the colors … it was such visual overload! There’s nowhere in the world like Park Güell. This park is why I love travel: to get inspired, to get my creative juices flowing and to appreciate how other people appreciate life. Additionally, the city views from the park are breathtaking. Barcelona really shines when viewed from park Güell.
I love people watching especially in a very touristy area. However, this time around people were watching me as some Chinese tourists were fascinated by me – not sure if it was the hair or the bold prints but shortly after our arrival at the park multiple tourists wanted to take photographs! Enjoy the video … ahhh Park Güell was quite the experience.
