Y’ALL, I love new tech! I love tools that make my life easier. I love the smell of new machinery and most of all learning HOW to use them. The ease that technology brings into my life is one thing I love about being born in this day and age! Yes, I work in tech and deal with loads of technology related tools but I love a good gadget and I have geared up for this 2021 blogging and vlogging season!
- Canon G7X iii – I love this cute lil vlogging camera! It’s super lightweight and I bought the creator’s kit, which came with additional battery, vlogging tripod and a bunch of other good stuff! - Canon M50 – Well this baby girl has been with me since day 1! I love how sturdy the body of this camera is. I will be recording most of my sit down vlogs on this camera. I hope that I can keep her safe with all the trips I will be hauling her through! If you need a camera that is a little sturdier if you’re looking for a camera that can take both great images as well as record really great images – this is a great one to start with. I pair it with this lens and I’ve been creating some great videos and product imagery.
3. Solar charger – This heavy duty charger has become my jack of all trades! It wirelessly charges my iPhone, can charge up to 3 additional USB devices and bonus – it has a built in torch that I’ve used in the village when in the Congo! 4. USB-C to USB-C chords – I love that most tech is moving towards a USB-C world, which in turn has made it easier to streamline the number of chords that I need to have with me at all times! These chords have been perfection when traveling as I bring them along and I can charge my iPad, MacBook Air and my other external charger. It’s made staying connected so easy! Shop here!
5. Apple Pencil – she’s my cutest addition. Yes, my Apple Pencil is a girl and we be werkin y’all! I love using the pencil when editing my Instagram (@Africancocktail) images. The pencil’s fine tip helps with getting those images just right. If you’ve ever used Lightroom but the precision to get the right hues is made easy using the pencil. Have you given it a shot? 6. Electronics organizer – ok I know this isn’t tech but ummm where are all these items – chords especially – going when on the road? This BAGSMART electronics organizer has been the perfect catch all for all my chords. I also store my hard drive in the pouch and having one place where everything is accessible and looks super cute – well that’s the girly tech’s dream! Shop organizer here.
7. iPad Pro 2020 and Magic Keyboard – y’all this combo done raised my game! I absolutely recommend getting this combo when looking for a handy tool that you can use for a whole breadth of activities! I use this combo for everything I do with regards to the Africancocktail brand: emails, editing blog posts, responding to comments, setting up the business front – invoicing, budget tracking, photo editing – whew child! I do it all – well except editing videos – I am yet to try that on the iPad! The battery life is a dream and while the 2020 version is a tad bulkier when paired with the magic keyboard, the potability of the iPad with all the functionality that goes with it makes this my favourite tool that I am bringing to bear in 2021!
