Brunch on the Northern Lights

When my good girlfriend Claudiane invited me for brunch, I wasn’t sure what to expect. She said brunch on a boat in Boston and I was like – for real? And off we went to the wharf to board the Northern Lights. We were welcomed aboard the vessel by the friendly captain and staff. It’s always refreshing to start your day with some positivity and this team radiated it throughout our time aboard.

The brunch itself was more than what either one of us had imagined! We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of food and variety that was available on the boat. During the 2.5 hour tour, the captain periodically interrupted the top 40 playlist with some fun facts about the Boston islands and the vessel itself. We started brunch off with some croissants and other fine pastries along with the traditional brunch drinks: mimosas and Shirley Temples. After our initial serving of pastries and fresh fruit, a second set of food options was served. The buffet included sausages, deviled eggs, hash browns (do I have you feeling hungry already?) just to name a few of the options.

After fueling up, we headed up to the top deck. This area was the perfect resting spot after the meal we had just had. We had 180 to 360 degree views of the Boston harbor and islands: a sight that we don’t get to enjoy as often as we should, especially in the summer. This is why brunch on the Northern Lights is on my top 5 summer activity list in Boston. There was so much calm and with the music playing in the background, our sailing tour seemed to make time stand still.
