I’m a big fan of traditions like high tea … I am half Kenyan after all! The Langham in Boston has one of my favorite tea times and this look is perfect for a fall high tea!
I chose this blush color palette as it nods to some of my favorite fall colors – the oranges, the deep reds and burgundys. This look is in line with my theme this fall/winter: outspoken femininity! I want all my pieces this fall/winter to be loud, unapologetic, purposeful and ultra feminine.
High tea is a classy affair people, and you don’t want to look too stuffy! To that end, I chose this soft toned satin skirt, which exudes both femininity and ease as today’s center piece.
I’m slightly obsessed with the satin skirt trend this fall. I wore one on day 1 of this fall/winter’s 30 skirts in 30 days series … here and today we have another!

I’m Binja, an African based healthcare IT consultant by day and an #Africancocktail at all times! Who is an #Africancocktail? Allow me to explain: I’m half Congolese (DRC) and half Kenyan (hella African) – that along with the fact that I’ve grown up in five countries on three continents has contributed to my being an amalgamation of cultures (or in my case a cocktail). Yes, I’m one of those ‘third culture kids’ who sounds British but speaks Swahili and French with an American accent. So yes folks – I’m an #Africancocktail!
