Today’s look is one that I will wear to a black tie event. I know that black tie events are notoriously tricky to style; however, I think in today’s look, we may have unlocked how to style this look and still show your own authentic style.
I got this button down skirt and when I unbuttoned the skirt, it revealed the white pleats – a treat if you ask me! This is a cheeky way to still adhere to the black tie guidelines and still show off your personal style! I added the pink heels and clutch as every black tie look deserves fabulous jewelry or statement pops of color as was done in this look.
I’m Binja, an African based healthcare IT consultant by day and an #Africancocktail at all times! Who is an #Africancocktail? Allow me to explain: I’m half Congolese (DRC) and half Kenyan (hella African) – that along with the fact that I’ve grown up in five countries on three continents has contributed to my being an amalgamation of cultures (or in my case a cocktail). Yes, I’m one of those ‘third culture kids’ who sounds British but speaks Swahili and French with an American accent. So yes folks – I’m an #Africancocktail!
