The one day that I go all out to celebrate is my birthday. I actually extend the celebrations month long … before y’all come for me, no – it’s not too much! I absolutely believe in celebrating milestones and there’s no bigger milestone than a birthday! So when mine comes around, I go all out!

Putting together a birthday look is one of the most important things that I do. I choose a look that I feel reflects my personality. Some years I’ve gone for a subtle and understated look and other years, like this year, I’ve gone for a full out glam look! Regardless of how you feel, what you wear needs to make a statement! After all, a birthday is a declaration that you are here!

I wore my neon lights midi skirt along with my Primark velvet bodysuit (similar). The skirt is one of my favorites as it not only fits like a glove but the vibrancy of the colors makes me smile. I also threw on my glitter heels. These are perfect party shoes – the block heel makes standing and dancing for hours, which I anticipate doing, a breeze. I added these earrings by Nicole Fichera and was ready to go!

I shot these images at my friends Nicole and Erin’s pop up Hourglass in Boston. I’ve talked about their stores before here. Their store was the perfect backdrop for an amazing shoot. The vibrancy in the colors and all the accessories on display and on sale made for the perfect glam shoot! Have you been to Hourglass yet?
