Day 22
The holidays bring with them some of my favorite traditions; one of which is going to watch a play in December. I recently watched Barbershop Chronicles, an all male troop’s interpretation of what transpires when men gather in spaces like barbershops. It was the perfect play: raw, honest, filled with African musical interludes, informative … y’all get it, I enjoyed this play. So in anticipation of y’all potentially having the same tradition, I figured that I could put together a look that is theatre appropriate.
I chose a blue satin skirt. Satin exudes luxury and this blue color is perfect when looking for a look that can transition from day to night. For example, if you went for dinner before a play, this look is perfect in both environments. I coupled the skirt with one of my camis from Forever21 (similar) and then threw on some of my favorite heels on. I grabbed my purse and headed to the venue!
Caveat: I’ve styled the look in these images based on early fall weather, when layering weather hasn’t completely taken over. When I wear this outfit in the winter, I add a coat, sweater and scarf to the look.
