Ok – so my typical workday doesn’t include a cute dog but now that I have you … I wanted to share what a typical fall/winter work outfit looks like for me!
I put up a poll on my Instagram on what other looks you would like to see during this series, and styling a skirt for a typical work day was one of the most requested looks. So here we are!
I paired this grey mermaid pencil skirt with a long sleeved top. I love a monochrome look – yes I frequently style them as I did (here), (here), and (here). Today’s look shows how I style a grey monochrome look for work. I prefer a clean, crisp look when at the office. I work in tech so there isn’t a strict ‘uniform’ but I do like to look presentable. I accessorized with some of my favorite Zara pieces: these earrings from my Barcelona trip (here) and these silver pumps. I topped off the look with this white coat as the New England fall has crisp mornings and evenings.
A workday look follows the same golden ration: is the look fashionable and comfortable? If the answer is yes, then you are well on your way!

I’m Binja, an African based healthcare IT consultant by day and an #Africancocktail at all times! Who is an #Africancocktail? Allow me to explain: I’m half Congolese (DRC) and half Kenyan (hella African) – that along with the fact that I’ve grown up in five countries on three continents has contributed to my being an amalgamation of cultures (or in my case a cocktail). Yes, I’m one of those ‘third culture kids’ who sounds British but speaks Swahili and French with an American accent. So yes folks – I’m an #Africancocktail!
